1. American Beauty
What can I say about the 1999 Best Picture winner besides the fact that it is a perfectly crafted movie. Kevin Spacy is the best of his career and he shines throughout the entire film. I have a hard time finding anything wrong with Sam Mendes's classic and I insist that everyone should see it.
2. Fight Club
Hey you remember David Fincher, That crazy dude that directed The Social Network. Well he did a few movies before that the best of which being Fight Club. This movie was mind-blowing inventive and very well acted and directed. It is proof that not all book to film adaptations are shit.
3. American History X
4. Observe and Report
This is where my list deviates from Popular opinion. I am not a real Seth Rogan fan, I actually don't really like him in anything else (except for Freaks And Geeks) but I do love Jody Hill the little known director who gathered a small following after his film The Foot Fist Way. This movie is way dark and not for everyone but I personally couldn't get enough.5. Serenity
That's right I'm a Joss Whedon Fan boy and I loved Serenity. Why not though its a well crafted funny Si-Fi adventure through the outer rim. I went into the theater for this with no previous Knowledge of Joss and came out a fan. Nathan Fillion needs to be in every movie ever made, as does Adam Baldwin.6.Scream
Screw Elm Street, Scream is really where Wes Craven shines. This is one of the few horror movies that can make me jump as well as laugh. It also lead me to believe that Mathew Lillard should play the Riddler in the upcoming Batman movie (I know the Riddler isn't in it but I still can dream.) also I have seen 4 and it is fantastic as well.
7.The Big Lebowski
It's like the Dude, need I say more?
8.Scott Pilgrim Vs The World
This may seem like an odd addition to the list seeing as how I hated Kick-Ass so much, but this was an adaptation done right. Keeping Close enough to the source material Scott Pilgrim won my heart with Edgar Wright's impressive visual style and Michael Cera Stepping up in a role even I thought he couldn't handle.
9. Super
This may seem like an odd addition to the list being that the movie is only three weeks old, but what can I say it made in impression. Rain Wilson Was fantastic, you know what if you want to read more just check out my review.
10. Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind
Seriously what does Jim Carrey have to do to win an Oscar? First the Truman Show then this. This is a fantastic movie, clever premise well acted well directed I wish it could be higher on the list but I watch way to many movies so it unfortunately got bumped down.
There we have it My top 10, I know someone out there will think I'm fucking stupid and have to be told how wrong I am about some choice so let me hear about it in the comments.
